Professional Supervision and Consultation in Psychedelic-Assisted Therapy (PAT)

Conscious Mind Centre provides Psychedelic-Assisted Therapy (PAT) supervision and professional consultation, delivered within clearly defined scopes and in accordance with Australia’s current regulatory environment.

Our services are intended to support clinicians and organisations through ethical reflection, professional development, and strategic consideration, rather than clinical direction, service delivery, or regulatory approval.

Supervision and consultation are offered as distinct services, each with specific indications and limitations.

Clinical Supervision
(PAT)

Psychedelic-Assisted Therapy supervision is available for registered clinicians involved in the delivery of Psychedelic-Assisted Therapy and is limited to patient-related clinical matters.

Clinical supervision provides a structured space for reflective practice, ethical consideration, and discussion of clinical complexities associated with PAT, within the supervisee’s existing scope of practice and professional responsibilities.

Clinical supervision may include:

  • Discussion of patient-related clinical material
  • PAT-specific therapeutic and ethical considerations
  • Reflective practice and professional accountability

Clinical supervision does not include consultation on service development, regulatory processes, clinic establishment, or organisational governance.

Professional Consultation (PAT)

Psychedelic-Assisted Therapy consultation is available for registered health practitioners and services seeking non-clinical, advisory discussion relating to the development, governance, and operational considerations of Psychedelic-Assisted Therapy within Australia.

Consultation is reflective and exploratory in nature, drawing on lived service experience and clinical governance insight to support independent professional decision making. It does not provide clinical direction or constitute regulatory, legal, or financial advice.

Consultation topics may include:

  • PAT program, delivery frameworks, team structure, and service model considerations

  • Program pricing approaches, resourcing, and clinic setup considerations

  • Governance frameworks, ethical considerations, and policy development

  • Reflections on HREC related considerations from the perspective of treating teams

Consultation is available as one-off sessions or on an ongoing basis.

Professional Consultation

  • Does not constitute clinical supervision, clinical direction, or treatment advice
  • Does not replace independent legal, financial, regulatory, or business advice
  • Does not provide HREC, TGA, or AHPRA approval or endorsement
  • Does not guarantee regulatory outcomes or service authorisation

Practitioners and services remain responsible for their own clinical decisions, regulatory compliance, and professional obligations.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • What is the difference between supervision and consultation in PAT?

Clinical supervision focuses on patient-related clinical work for clinicians delivering PAT. Professional consultation is non-clinical and advisory, addressing strategic, ethical, and service-level considerations rather than individual patient care.

  • Is consultation available for HREC applications?

Consultation may include general discussion of HREC processes and considerations, including ethical and structural issues. It does not involve authorship of applications, acting on behalf of services, or responsibility for approval outcomes.

  • Can consultation support setting up a PAT clinic or program?

Consultation may include reflective discussion on program development, governance, clinic setup, and other strategic considerations relevant to PAT. It does not provide clinical direction, regulatory, legal, or financial advice, nor does it include implementation, operational management, or formal policy authorship.

  • Is consultation clinical or patient-focused?

No, consultation is non-clinical and does not involve patient material. Patient-related discussions are limited to clinical supervision only.

  • Are supervision and consultation ongoing services?

Both services may be offered on a one-off or ongoing basis, subject to scope, availability, and appropriateness.

  • Does Conscious Mind Centre provide regulatory or compliance advice?

No, all supervision and consultation services are advisory and educational and do not constitute legal, regulatory, or compliance advice.
